Seventh All India School Eductaion Survey in Arunachal Pradesh

Introduction

 

In the 7th All India School   Education Survey(7thAISES)  union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), and National Informatics Centre (NIC) are involved. The date of reference for this survey is 30th September 2002.  In includes various phases such as planning, training of staff, data collection, manual scrutiny and preparation of data for their transcription on magnetic media.  This survey, being gigantic, is to be operated by a large number of persons at the National, State, District, CD Block,Town levels.  The survey proposes to provide basic inputs required for future planning and management of school education, particularly meeting the data needs for specific initiatives in the field of elementary and secondary education. 

The first task of the survey is to prepare a comprehensive, up-to-date list of District, Town, SubDivision, Blocks, Villages, recognised schools for Arunachal Pradesh . These lists will be of great help in distribution of survey tools and receiving them back after they are filled-in.  In Arunachal all these lists have been prepared with the information provided by the respective District Survey Officers of the districts to the District Informatics Officer of NIC.

For Arunachal Pradesh, Directorate of School Education , Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh and NIC, Arunachal Pradesh State are entrusted for successful completion of the project.
  The Survey started in Arunachal Pradesh in the month of December, 2002 with the training programme of District Survey Officers and Block Survey Officers at Bharat Scount and Guide Campus, Naharlagun, which was imparted by resource persons from NCERT. For Arunachal Pradesh the input schedules that are of relevance are VIF, SIF-1, SIF-2, UIF, SSIF. For the  Survey, Arunachal Pradesh has been assigned 12 as State Code.

Present status of the survey in Arunachal Pradesh :-

                1. All the required lists have been prepared.
                2. Data collection has been completed.
                3. Scrutiny of Flash Statistics Schedules have been completed at District and State level.
                4. State level Review and Monitoring Committee has been constituted.
                5. Data entry agency has been selected for Arunachal Pradesh. The firm selected is M/s Datamation Ltd.
                6. Data entry and validation work of  Flash statistics schedules have been completed.
                7. First meeting of State level Review and Monitoring Committee was held on 22-03-2004 under the
                   Chairmanship of
Shri Tape Bagra, Secretary(Education), Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.
                8. Second meeting of State level Review and Monitoring Committee was held on 02-04-2004 under the
                   Chairmanship of
Shri Tape Bagra, Secretary(Education), Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.
                9. Data entry  work of  Main schedules has been started from 20-04-2004.
